The Tragic Real Life Story Of Eazy E

From the California streets to receiving countless accolades, all of these tragic real-life moments are part of the story of Eazy E. Becoming one of the godfathers of gangsta rap and solidifying an unattainable legacy is a feat only few achieve. It wouldn’t be without Eazy-E’s rough childhood in Compton, California and creating music with local musicians Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, that Eazy-E would form the group, N.W.A. The rookie rappers quickly rose to fame upon the release of their first album, Straight Outta Compton. As iconic as they were, you might be surprised to find that the group split after just six years.

During such a promising time of his life, Eazy-E was diagnosed with AIDS at the Cedars-Senai Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1995. His condition quickly worsened, and Eazy E passed away. His son, Lil’ Eazy-E, carries on his father’s legacy and even recalled some of the final moments he shared with his father on Vlad TV. Eric Wright’s spirit has lived on as well, through not only through his seven children, but also through the Oscar nominated film, Straight Outta Compton, where Wright was played by actor Jason Mitchell. Even in closing credits, the film made sure to honor the tragic passing of hip hop icon Eazy E.
